Kite-boarding/surfing
I've never seen or heard of this sport before- not even while living in southern California where outdoor water sports are so popular. I got lucky that I had my camera with me this day- I've been dying to catch these guys in action. I love when they hit a mini-wave and take off into the air. They get some decent hang-time.

I have a friend who does this. She is nuts! The wind got her once and kept taking her up and up til she let go at around 30 ft because she was afraid she would never come down!

That's a crazy story, Chris! Is this sport popular everywhere? I can see why it is popular on the Long Island Sound- no waves, shallow water, good ocean breezes, etc. You definitely couldn't surf here. And surfing is so popular in SoCal that I can see why this sport wouldn't have become mainstream over there.
