Weekend Fun

The family and I visited Castle Craig in Meriden on Saturday. My dad had taken me and a friend there as kids- apparently long enough ago that I had forgotten just how high it is and that I'm terribly scared of heights. I wish I had some pictures of the great view, but I would have needed to go near the edge to get them. I couldn't even muster up enough courage to go into the tower. This was the best I could get between states of panic-stricken fear and hugging the ground.

That's Ben and Lanie at the top of the tower. (Click for larger view)

Castle Craig from the bottom of the mountain. My palms stopped sweating at this point.

After that excitement, we went to Lyman Orchards again to get pumpkins and mums. Here's Lanie enjoying a pony ride there.

Great pictures, despite the panic attack!

Seems like every Thanksgiving came with a promise of "going to Castle Craig." I don't remember ever actually going. But the alternate plan--the Indiana Jones walk--was always fun anyway. Nice pics.

Thanks. I LOVE the Indiana Jones walk! I still say we should have a family reunion and re-walk the walk. Remember one year we did a different hike along a mountain ridge. My dad says it is called East Peak (or West Peak?)?

I don't know, but I remember East Peak from putting my face really close to the screen and reading that plaque in your pic before....

But I don't remember actually walking along a ridge.

Great pictures, as always.

Is that my dad leading the horse or what?

Ha! I totally thought that, too! He's almost a dead ringer for your dad.

Boy, I hope Cookie doesn't see these pictures! She would be totally jealous.

Since October 9th, only one of four sisters has posted. Baseball is over, this is when I need you most!

Sorry, Cuz. Newi's not pleased with us, either. : )

Not sure why there's been a lack of blogging lately. I'll get working on that though.

Good luck trying to shame them into blogging, Jere... It never works for me!
