Here's a picture of Lanie (r) and her best buddy out for a birthday lunch at Friendly's yesterday. After lunch we went duckpin bowling for the first time ever. I've never even heard of duckpin bowling until recently. I thought all New Englanders were faithful candlepin bowlers. I found out the two types are practically the same though. The duckpins are shorter and more squat than the candlepins. Same rules otherwise and lots of fun, too!

We have duckpins here in Baltimore.
My grandpa was a duckpin bowler. In Hartford-area. I never heard of candlepin until that SNL sketch about the game show featuring New Englanders. "You cahhn't get theya from heya."
