Transformation

My favorite tree, a magnificent-old Oak that hangs over a colonial cemetery, eventually turns the prettiest shade of yellow during Fall. I vowed to get pictures of it this year and I'm glad I did since Hurricane Sandy blew all of its leaves off prematurely. Here she is in her seasonal splendor.

Fall Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual visit to Jones Family Farms to get pumpkins two weekends ago. The kids had a great time and Ben and I took full advantage of the plentiful photo opps'.

Happy Fall

It seems I've been neglecting my blog for some time now. While I regroup and correct the error of my ways, enjoy these pictures from our trip to Jones Family Farm for their annual UNICEF Family Festival yesterday. Afterwards, we drove up the road to the Beardsley Cider Mill for apple picking. Apple crisp or an apple pie is definitely in our future.

For Elijah

Our nephew Elijah is a big Minnie Mouse fan, so this is for him. Lanie found this template online for her pumpkin. She and Ben carved it last weekend because, well, because they are impulsive. Guess where it is today? In the trash because it is moldy. Glad I got a picture when I did.

Fall Fun

Ben had today off, so we went pumpkin picking at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, CT. There were horse-drawn wagon rides, a corn maze and apple and pumpkin picking galore.

Bennington

Lanie and I just got back from visiting family in Bennington, VT this weekend. We had a lovely time seeing everyone and the foliage is beautiful there. The leaves are just starting to change color here so it was neat to drive north through Connecticut, Massachusetts and into Vermont and see the progression of colorful leaves. The weather didn't fully cooperate, but it was pretty there nonetheless.

Autumn in Vermont

Guess I haven't had much to say lately. While I think of something to blog about, you can enjoy some Vermont scenery in these pictures. I took them two weekends ago on a trip to Bennington to visit my grandparents.

Cider Hill Farm

Visited Cider Hill Farm today for apples and a pumpkin. Very beautiful fall day today and lots of fun.

Must go back to focus on the game now. The Red Sox are up 3-0!!! : )
